Plating Breakdown - 1, 2 and 3 Micron
  • 1 Micron: This is a standard entry-level plating. It is best suited for items like earrings or pendants that experience minimal friction.
  • 2 Microns: A solid, mid-tier option that balances quality and cost. It is recommended for necklaces and occasional wear rings.
  • 2.5 Microns: This is for high-quality, durable daily-wear jewellery. This thickness is known as Gold Vermeil.
  • 3 Microns: The gold standard for high-quality, durable daily-wear jewellery. This thickness will hold up well against daily friction.

How long will my plating last?

This question is a bit tricky to answer as it comes down to lifestyle and how you look after your jewellery.

How do I take care of my gold-plated jewellery?

A few basic rules apply: take rings and bracelets off when you need to do something that requires a lot of work with your hands. Wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth after a day of wear, and make sure to store it in a proper location.
