Sterling Silver

- What is 925 Sterling Silver -

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. This is the reason why Sterling Silver is popularly referred to as 925 Sterling Silver. Pure silver is 99.9% of silver but is very soft and malleable so not suitable for long term jewellery wearing. To introduce a bit of hardness to the silver, copper is added so jewellers are able to make intricate and complex pieces with 925 Sterling Silver.

- What is Solid 925 Sterling Silver -

Jewellery pieces crafted from solid 925 Sterling Silver are hallmarked with “925” or “92.5”. This means that the base metal of the jewellery piece is made of solid 925 sterling silver.
Our Sterling Silver jewellery pieces will display the term "Solid 925 Sterling Silver" next to “Metals:”
